Can I use PATS without LINE?

Do I need to download an app?

No. PATS runs in your web browser at vincent1021210.github.io. It takes no storage on your phone, and new versions are applied automatically. On Android you can also install the optional PATS app (APK), which keeps the interface on your phone so it opens faster. There is also a Windows desktop app that can start with your computer and show desktop notifications for new messages.

Can I sign up without a phone number?

Yes. PATS never asks for a phone number. Sign up with one tap using a Google account, or with an email address and password (confirmed by a 6-digit code sent to your inbox).

Does PATS work on a computer?

Yes. It works in browsers on Windows, Mac and Chromebook, as well as on phones and tablets. Remember to sign out when you use a shared or school computer.

Use an up-to-date version of Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox. Voice and video calls require allowing microphone and camera access in the browser.

Can I send photos, and how long are they kept?

Where is my data stored? Is it safe?

The PATS backend runs on Google Apps Script. Messages are stored in Google Sheets and photos in Google Drive. All traffic uses HTTPS, and passwords are stored as hashes, never in plain text.
